Our Approach to a Pain-free Pet
Acupuncture for Pets?

Absolutely! Put simply, acupuncture works for pain and is well tolerated by most pets. Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese technique but in modern day has been adopted in Western medicine - primarily for it's benefits in tackling stubborn pain.

Acupuncture works by stimulating nerves, releasing the body's natural endorphins and relaxing tense tight muscles. It also has benefits in changing blood flow, and can benefit numerous chronic diseases.

Typically acupuncture takes 4-6 sessions to have lasting effects, but can start working right away to relieve pain.

Dr Lisa works with a gentle touch - her goal is that pet's don't even notice their sessions (they are too busy snacking)! Dr Lisa is experienced in acupuncture and has treated many patients through her work in rehabilitation medicine.
The Home Environment
We see our homes as cozy sanctuaries, but for a calico with osteoarthritis or a daschund with disc disease; they may be obstacle courses and risks for inury! Dr Lisa will help you see your home through your pet's eyes, and make modifications where needed to help them get around.

Supplements and Medications
Dr Lisa strives to put together a medication plan that balances management of chronic and acute pain, and take the mystery out of supplements. Each pet is an individual - and so is their pain plan! When we put all the pieces of our approach together we can decrease our medication use to the lowest needed doses.

Thinking OUTSIDE the box
Sometimes it's the little things - a heated bed, a new harness, a wellness fitness routine - that can make the difference. We work together to find the little extras that make a big difference for your baby.
